Alcaraz Vs Sinner Indian Wells 2024

Alcaraz battles back to end Sinner's streak

Spaniard advances to BNP Paribas Open final

Indian Wells, Calif. -- Carlos Alcaraz battled back from a set down to defeat Jannik Sinner 1-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the BNP Paribas Open on Saturday night.

Sinner, who was unbeaten on the season coming into the match, took the first set in convincing fashion, breaking Alcaraz twice and winning 81% of points on his first serve. However, Alcaraz responded in the second set, breaking Sinner twice and winning 88% of points on his first serve to level the match.

The third set was a tight affair, but Alcaraz eventually broke Sinner in the seventh game and served out the match to advance to the final, where he will face either Taylor Fritz or Miomir Kecmanovic.

"It was a tough match," said Alcaraz. "Jannik is a great player and he played very well today. I'm just happy that I was able to come back and win."

Alcaraz's victory over Sinner is his second in a row against the Italian. He also defeated Sinner in the semi-finals of the Mutua Madrid Open last year.

"We have a really good rivalry," said Alcaraz. "We always play close matches and I'm always looking forward to playing him."
