Medvedev, who was the defending champion, fought back from a set down and saved two match points in the third set. However, Djokovic proved too strong in the end, breaking Medvedev's serve in the final game to seal the victory.
Djokovic's Record-Breaking Year
With his win at the US Open, Djokovic has now won three of the four Grand Slams in 2022, having previously won the Australian Open and Wimbledon. He missed the French Open due to his vaccination status.
