Traffic jam at the N242 caused by an accident
A serious accident on the N242 near Heerhugowaard caused a huge traffic jam Thursday morning. Three lanes were closed, which resulted in a 20-minute delay.
One person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. The accident occurred around 7:20 AM between the A9 and Heerhugowaard.
There are large delays on the N242 as a result of the accident. Traffic is already backed up at the A9 and the delay is currently 20 minutes. It is not yet known how long the delays will last.
The N242 is a busy road that connects Heerhugowaard to Amsterdam. The road is often busy during the morning and evening rush hours.
The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
